State seeking proposals for AML Pilot Program
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Division of Abandoned Mine Lands is seeking proposals for its 2019 grant cycle.
Up to $25 million in federal grant money is available to eligible applicants. The money is administered through the federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement and operated through the Kentucky Division of Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) for pilot projects in Appalachia Kentucky counties.
Prior AML projects funded include the SilverLiner facility at the Kentucky Enterprise Industrial Park in Pikeville, the Appalachian Wildlife Center in Bell County, and the HAAS e-Kentucky Advanced Manufacturing Institute in Johnson County.
